67th Avenue Corridor - Construction Info

Current Construction Info:  (May 7, 2026)

The City of Peoria has contracted with Sundt Construction for the 67th Avenue Corridor Improvement Project, Pinnacle Peak to Happy Valley Road, with the following work currently taking place or planned:

  • 67th Avenue traffic is currently shifted to the west side of the road, one lane in each direction with left turns restricted, to accommodate work on the east side of 67th Avenue for grading, and for concrete ramps, sidewalk, and valley gutters.

  • Crews continue work across the front of Chaminade at Chester Road with this work taking place one-half at a time to maintain access for residents. Chaminade's full access should be restored on Monday, May 11; however, work will continue at the entry to construct the valley gutter and concrete ramps through the end of the week.

  • Scheduled for May 11-15, crews will work across the front of Tuscany Ranch at Leiber Place to remove asphalt and prepare the subsurface for future paving. To maintain access, this work will take place one-half at a time (see graphic at right).

  • Scheduled to begin May 18, left turns will once again be restricted for southbound 67th Avenue traffic onto eastbound Parkside Lane as grading crews work along the east side of 67th Avenue to prepare the subsurface of the road for paving.

  • Currently scheduled for Thursday, May 21 and Thursday, May 28, paving crews will pave the base course (bottom layer) of asphalt along the east side of 67th Avenue, and following that on June 8-9, will pave the surface course (top layer) of asphalt. As the paving activities cross side streets or driveways there will be brief periods where access is restricted; however, crews will work as quickly as possible to restore access. Following the paving, striping will be applied.

  • Scheduled for late June or early July, crews will begin work on the west side of 67th Avenue at Hatfield Road. At that time, Hatfield Road will be closed at 67th Avenue as that work includes installing six 54" pipes diagonally across 67th Avenue from the south side of Hatfield Road to the wash on the east side of 67th Avenue.

  • Electric crews continue coordination for installation and energizing of remaining streetlights.

  • Crews continue work at the Pinnacle Peak basin to install pipe rail fencing, and expect to be complete in summer, and crews will begin work at the Hatfield Road basin in early June to remove fence around the basin to prepare for upcoming work.

To accommodate the construction, speed limits in 67th Avenue, from Pinnacle Peak Road to Hatfield Road, are reduced to 30mph for the safety of travelers, construction crews, and nearby residents and businesses.

Access to residences and businesses is being maintained during this work, although it may not be the most direct route. Please be aware that construction schedules can be impacted by a variety of factors to include weather, materials scheduling, and availability of resources.  Thank you for your patience during this work.
