67th Avenue Corridor - Construction Info
Current Construction Info: (Jan. 16, 2026)
The City of Peoria has contracted with Sundt Construction for improvements to 67th Avenue, from Pinnacle Peak Road to Happy Valley Road, with work currently taking place for drainage improvements along Pinnacle Peak Road and Hatfield Road, west of 67th Avenue, as follows:​

Crews continue work to install storm drain pipe and roadway improvements on the west side of 67th Avenue north of Pinnacle Peak Road working in a northerly direction.

Scheduled to begin Jan. 20, Calle Lejos will be CLOSED at 67th Avenue for approximately one week to conduct grading activities to prepare for paving. Scheduled to begin Jan. 21, Mariposa Grande will also be CLOSED at 67th Avenue for approximately one week. Paving is currently scheduled for Feb. 19, weather permitting, which will require the closure of Calle Lejos and Mariposa Grande once again. During the planned closures, detour signage will be in place to direct travelers around the closures.

As crews install storm drain pipe in the west side of 67th Avenue, there are several lateral lines to be installed across to the east side of 67th Avenue. During these installations, 67th Avenue traffic will be further reduced to one lane in each direction with traffic shifted away from the lateral line work. This activity is currently taking place through Jan. 30.

Scheduled to begin Jan. 19, concrete crews will form and pour concrete ramps, curb and sidewalk along the west side of 67th Avenue.

Electric crews continue work to excavate and drill for street light poles from Pinnacle Peak to Mariposa Grande. Scheduled to begin the week of Jan. 26, this work will move north to the segment between Mariposa Grande and Hatfield Road. Street lights will not be energized until all connections are made.

Crews continue work for storm drain infrastructure in the wash area between Hatfield Road and Saguaro Park Lane (Mountainview Ridge community), east of 67th Avenue to approximately 65th Drive.

Crews are also scheduled to begin work installing pipe rail fencing at the Pinnacle Peak basin.
Access to residences and businesses is being maintained during this work, although it may not be the most direct route. Please be aware that construction schedules can be impacted by a variety of factors to include weather, materials scheduling, and availability of resources.
