67th Avenue Corridor - Construction Info

Current Construction Info:  (April 9, 2026)

The City of Peoria has contracted with Sundt Construction for the 67th Avenue Corridor Improvement Project, Pinnacle Peak to Happy Valley Road, with the following work currently taking place or planned:

  • 67th Avenue traffic is currently shifted to the west side of the road, one lane in each direction with left turns restricted, to accommodate work on the east side of 67th Avenue for grading, and for concrete ramps, sidewalk, and valley gutters.

  • Pinnacle Peak Road is currently closed on the east side of 67th Avenue to accommodate work on concrete corner ramps. This work is expected to be complete, and Pinnacle Peak Road reopened on Wednesday, April 15. In addition, scheduled to take place on or before April 22, southbound left turns will be restored at the Pinnacle Peak Road intersection.

  • Scheduled to take place April 20 - 28, Softwind Drive will be closed on the east side of 67th Avenue for similar work. Detour signage will be in place to direct travelers around the closure.

  • Scheduled to take place Friday, May 1, the entrance to Bayer School will be closed during the school's break, to remove asphalt and prepare the subsurface for future paving.

  • Scheduled to begin approximately May 5, crews will work across the front of Chaminade at Chester Road to remove asphalt and prepare the subsurface for future paving. To maintain access, this work will take place one-half at a time (see graphic).

  • Following work across Chester Road, similar work will take place in a similar manner across the front of Tuscany Ranch at Leiber Place with access maintained.

  • Crews continue work on drainage improvements installing storm drain pipe, lateral lines, and catch basins. This effort includes installation of six 54" pipes from the wash on the east side of 67th Avenue, crossing 67th Avenue diagonally in a southwesterly direction toward Hatfield Road.

  • Crews are also working on the east side of 67th Avenue to install electric conduit for street lights, and bore locations for future street light poles.

  • Crews continue work at the Pinnacle Peak basin to install pipe rail fencing, and expected to be complete in summer.
