67th Avenue Corridor - Construction Info

Current Construction Info:  (Dec. 1, 2025)

The City of Peoria has contracted with Sundt Construction for improvements to 67th Avenue, from Pinnacle Peak Road to Happy Valley Road, with work currently taking place for drainage improvements along Pinnacle Peak Road and Hatfield Road, west of 67th Avenue, as follows:​

  • The New River Trail is currently CLOSED at Hatfield Road, between Pinnacle Peak and Happy Valley, until this area can be completed.

 

  • Crews continue work to install storm drain pipe and roadway improvements on the west side of 67th Avenue north of Pinnacle Peak Road working in a northerly direction. As storm drain pipe installation crosses each side street moving northward, that street will be closed on the west side of 67th Avenue for approximately 5-7 days, with the following tentative schedule:

    • Calle Lejos closed Dec. 8 - 12

    • Access to Villa Lindo will be maintained one-half at a time as there is no alternate access

  • As crews install storm drain pipe in the west side of 67th Avenue, there are several lateral lines to be installed across to the east side of 67th Avenue. During these installations, 67th Avenue traffic will be further reduced to one lane in each direction with traffic shifted away from the lateral line work. These are currently scheduled to take place on Dec. 15 - 19, with more to follow.

 

  • Crews also continue work for storm drain infrastructure in the wash area between Hatfield Road and Saguaro Park Lane (Mountainview Ridge community), east of 67th Avenue to approximately 65th Drive. This work currently includes the construction of concrete headwalls and installation of handrail through late November.

 

  • Access to residences and businesses is being maintained during this work, although it may not be the most direct route. Please be aware that construction schedules can be impacted by a variety of factors to include weather, materials scheduling, and availability of resources.
