67th Avenue Corridor - Construction Info
Current Construction Info: (August 22, 2025)
To prepare for the City's improvements, Cox and Lumen contractor crews continue their relocation work along 67th Avenue. Roads remain open for travel with lane and left turn restrictions in place, as needed, to accommodate this utility work. Once this third-party utility work is substantially complete, scheduled for late September, the city's contractor can begin their work on the City of Peoria's road improvements.
The City of Peoria has contracted with Sundt Construction for improvements to 67th Avenue, from Pinnacle Peak Road to Happy Valley Road, with work currently taking place for drainage improvements along Pinnacle Peak Road and Hatfield Road, west of 67th Avenue, as follows:

Previous Exhibits:
-
The New River Trail is currently CLOSED at Hatfield Road, between Pinnacle Peak and Happy Valley, through December 2026. This closure is necessary to accommodate excavation and installation of a 90” storm drain pipe to serve as the outfall for drainage during stormwater events.
-
Hatfield Road is reduced to one lane, westbound only (no eastbound travel permitted), to accommodate a larger excavation west of 67th Avenue. Hatfield Road travelers should plan their travel to access Hatfield Road from the east and exit to the west. This work includes trenching and installation of large storm drain pipe and manholes as part of the drainage improvements, and expected to be complete in late September.
-
Crews are scheduled to conduct grading activities at the New River Path during the week of August 25.
-
Crews continue work in the Pinnacle Peak Road basin, west of 67th Avenue to install riprap at the headwalls of the basin.
-
Scheduled to begin September 2, crews will resume waterline work and storm drain installation on the west side of 67th Avenue, behind existing traffic control. Crews are relocating existing waterline to make way for the storm drain installation, which will follow. Residents impacted by planned water disruptions will be notified in advance via a door hanger.
-
Crews continue work to install six 54" pipes for storm drain infrastructure in the wash area between Hatfield Road and Saguaro Park Lane (Mountainview Ridge community), east of 67th Avenue to approximately 65th Drive.

Access to residences and businesses is being maintained during this work, although it may not be the most direct route. Please be aware that construction schedules can be impacted by a variety of factors to include weather, materials scheduling, and availability of resources.

Thank you for your patience during this work.
