67th Avenue Corridor - Construction Info

Current Construction Info:  (June 11, 2026)

The City of Peoria has contracted with Sundt Construction for the 67th Avenue Corridor Improvement Project, Pinnacle Peak to Happy Valley Road, with the following work currently taking place or planned:

• 67th Avenue traffic is currently shifted to the west side of the road, one lane in each direction with left turns restricted, to accommodate work on the east side of 67th Avenue.

• Crews recently paved the east side of 67th Avenue and are currently working to adjust manholes and valves to make them flush with the new asphalt surface. Scheduled for early next week, striping will be applied to prepare for an upcoming traffic shift.

• Scheduled to take place July 7, 67th Ave traffic will be shifted to the east side of 67th Ave onto the new asphalt surface, still one lane in each direction, to begin work on the west side of 67th Avenue at Hatfield Road. At that time, Hatfield Road will be closed at 67th Avenue as that work includes installing six 54" pipes diagonally across 67th Avenue from the south side of Hatfield Road to the wash on the east side of 67th Avenue.

• Following the traffic shift on July 7, crews will mill (remove) asphalt in the west side of 67th Ave at Hatfield Rd, and conduct potholing to identify the specific depth and location of underground utilities, to minimize conflicts during construction as they prepare for installation of the 54" storm drain pipes, which will begin sometime in mid-July.

• The week of June 15, crews will remove the fence at the Hatfield Rd basin and, scheduled to begin the week of June 22 for approximately 1- 2 weeks, will conduct excavation in the basin to prepare for upcoming work.

• Crews continue work at the Pinnacle Peak basin to install pipe rail fencing, and will install decomposed granite (DG) in the basin beginning in early July.
